It is an area renowned for its fish-filled rivers, walnuts, foie gras, pate, truffles, and other gastronomic delights. The area boasts famous caves, and so much more.

Set in a vast, beautiful parkland the Chateau is accessed by a 1 km newly paved private driveway.

To access the castle one passes through two automatic gates giving way to a parking space for four cars.

The chateau, built on the remnants of an older building, a dwelling from 1850, is flanked by two 12th century towers, The building covers a total living space of 600m2, divided over three floors, plus the rooms in the towers which cover another 100m2.

The indoor heated salt water swimming pool in the Grange (500m2), at 75m distance from the chateau. Large doors opening up to the terrace in front.

The hangar (50m2) and garage are used for garden machinery.

The well-renovated farm at the foot of the hillside (40m below castle level) serves as a guest house.

There is a second farmhouse to be restored with its outbuilding, which completes the estate.

The main castle is surrounded by a medieval moat smartly structured as a modern large pond of 170m2, currently full of goldfish.

The ramparts at the front are high and provide views over the lower garden terraces.

Ground Floor: Central Hall with staircase, toilet and cloakroom. Living room appr. 87m2, magnificent chapel in the tower with a fireplace. Formal dining room with glazed doors opening up to the hall and kitchen. Kitchen with open fireplace, luxuriously equipped. A central control unit with alarm, outdoor lighting, shutters etc. The floor is of Marfill Cream marble, with a dolomite decoration here and there.

First Floor: accessed by a wide spiral stairway leading to the central overflow, with 23mm oak flooring, arriving at:

the office (madame) with carpeted floors, the laundry space in the tower, two guest bedrooms en suite (marble bathroom floors).

The Master Bedroom of 35m2 with separate dressing room, adjoining, in the tower, a spacious luxurious bathroom with lovely views over the valley.

Attic: the landing, one bedroom, possibility for more. All facilities for a possible expansion are already installed such as drains, water and electricity, therefore no architectural changes are necessary.

Underground: from the central hall there is access to the cellar with 12th century vaults, with a corridor leading out to the front yard of the castle. All new features, natural stone floors. There is also a winter kitchen built in the part of the high fortress wall which directly faces south and one can even have lunch there. Pleasant in winter, and nice during beautiful sunny weather outside on the terrace.

Summer terrace:

At about 20m away from the castle a BBQ with water/sink is placed against a rock wall. The covered terrace which is a sheltered extension of the family room, completes the building. With a large fireplace 2x2m, television, and furniture, it is an excellent place for lunch and dinner.


Open garage for two cars with new slate roof, also for wood storage for the fireplaces. For dog lovers there is a wonderful outdoor kennel adjacent to a small herb garden.

The Grande Grange (500m2 total):

Divided into an open garage for storage, a heated workshop (100m2), a warehouse (33m2), an unheated studio (80m2), a sauna room (40m2) with bar and refrigerator, toilet, TV, couch etc., and (separated by a glass wall) the indoor pool in a total area of 174m2 with a large shower. Equipped with its own heating system, water softener, pool equipment, central distribution electricity, hot water boiler, air compressor etc. Finished with lots of teak furniture and nice interior decoration.

The Farm:

The Conciergerie with three bedrooms was completely reconstructed in 1996 and serves as the residence for the owner during the restoration of the Chateau.

Ground floor: Living space of about 150 m2, with beautiful stone terraces etc., master bedroom and bathroom.

First floor: two bedrooms (possibility for extra bathroom). Water, electricity and telephone come directly through underground cabling of about 600m from the Grande Grange. Alternative use/access to the public networks is also possible (cables already installed).

As for the Chateau and the Grange the roofs are all renewed. The windows and exterior doors are of hardwood with double glazing. The Chateau has electric shutters. In the grange is also the technical area (25m2) for water, electricity, telephone distribution to the land and other buildings.
