In the commune of Montvalezan (La Rosiere) the hamlet is on the south facing hillside leading up to the ski resort. Away from the main road to resort, yet only a few minutes from the resort of roads that are cleared of snow during the winter season.
La Rosière 1850 is a pretty French ski resort with one of the best views in the Alps. At 1850 meters you have the opportunity of high altitude skiing and 180 degree south facing views over the Tarentaise valley. La Rosiere shares the ski area with Italy, Espace San Bernardo making it one of the international few, so that you can ski over to La Thuile for coffee or lunch or indeed in the summer months drive or cycle over to Italy via the Col de Petit Saint Bernard. La Rosiere has all the local amenities you need, cinema, ice rink, shops, bars, restaurants, garage/petrol station.
If you are feeling a little more adventurous, then La Rosiere is between 15km and 30km to resorts like Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and Sainte Foy (20-40mins drive). Great summer activities such as golf, walking, cycling, mountain biking, rafting, and paragliding.
You are 2.5hrs drive from all the main airports Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Turin (in the summer) 20mins from Bourg Saint Maurice International Eurostar Train station – and also a hub for supermarkets, outdoorsy type shopping and pretty well anything you need whilst living here. There is also a regular bus and school bus service.
