The Chateau was built around 1880 on the grounds of the old chateaus and castles which variously occupied this spot over the centuries. Some substantial remains of the old castle walls still remain in the grounds and it is believed tunnels exist linking it to the local church and beyond.
As you walk up from the town you enter the property through the large metal gates. The gravelled drive splits in two and the lower drive leads to the garage whilst the top drive takes you to the main courtyard. As you approach you can see the chateau in all its glory with the castellated roof terrace and tower. The drive ultimately loops around the garden back down to the main gates. From the front terrace from you can take in all the surrounding views.
