    The Tarn-et-Garonne is a delightful and un-spoilt department of France, the area is beautiful, with landscapes of forests, undulating hills, rivers and wild flowers. It is also famed for its lovely towns and villages, and is a very popular tourist destination.

    St. Projet traditional and beautifully kept village with a chateau, a bar, open most days and evenings and a post office and library. St. Projet has a full calendar of social activities throughout the year, including the famous Giant Omelette Festival. 

    There are 2 boulangeries and shops within 3km of the house which can also provide daily deliveries if required. There are also 2 very good restaurants within 3 Km. In the villages of Parisot and Caylus both 10 mins drive there are a leisure lakes, campsites, restaurants, bars, bakeries, shops, doctors, pharmacies and beauty salons. Parisot also hosts an international literary festival and an arts festival every year.
    The transport network is excellent, with easy access to motorways and rail travel. The area is also well located for the airports of Toulouse, Brive and Rodez; all within 1 to 2 hours’ drive.

    Excellent shopping facilities are available in Cahors and Toulouse, with everyday shops, hospital, schools and services readily accessible in the nearby towns.

    There are local markets in the nearby towns and villages, Limogne-en-Quercy, St. Antonin and Caylus, including, a large Thursday market in Villefranche de Rouergue, The Villefranche market is widely popular and is incredibly busy and vibrant.

    In Villefranche de Rouergue there is a railway station, several large supermarkets, and lots of restaurants, shops and bars. 
    At certain times of the year there are occasional evening ‘producteurs’ markets in the surrounding towns and villages where food and wine can be bought and eaten at large trestle tables, accompanied by music and dancing; creating a lovely, welcoming, party atmosphere.

    Sightseeing in the area is extensive, with opportunities to explore the dramatic castles and old ‘bastide’ towns. There are also local water sports available, including canoeing down the Gorges of the Aveyron and Lot rivers.
