The doors open on stylish designer interior and drop-dead-gorgeous walls of soft gold stone, this essentially gourmet address exudes a real air of refinement. The boutique hotel rooms sit above the contemporary, Scandinavian styled restaurant, designed by Christine Gorris, Six rooms and a suite spread above the restaurant in the imposing country mansion from the 17th century. There is absolutely nothing dated about the rooms, each beautifully dressed in caramel oak flooring, soft natural hues and country-chic fabrics typical to France's hot south. Painted wooden furniture, chequered bed throws and pretty cotton-embroidered 'do not disturb' cushions to string on the doorknob create a deeply comforting atmosphere. But then, the boutique hotel was part of the consistently charming, Alain Ducasse-endorsed Châteaux and Hôtels Collection. Each room is named after a different street or square in town, .
